Following or being guided by fashion is all very well if you like looking your best and you want to keep up with the latest trends but being a fashion freak in the strict sense of the word is a completely different concept and is not really so good for you.
Allowing yourself to be guided by fashion means that you see what is being offered out there on the cat walks, in the magazines, on the people that you see every day and you decide what it is that you like about what you see.
What attracts your eye is possibly one item of the outfit like say the skirt that you saw a woman or model wearing and you say to yourself that you simply have to find out where you can find one like that or one that is similar. But maybe you won’t necessarily wear that particular skirt with the see-through blouse that the person you saw was wearing because you say to yourself ‘no, that’s not me, I’m a mother of two children and besides my husband would have a fit!’ So you are obviously a person that is guided by fashion but you have your own final say and decide what is for you and what is not for you, and just because it is fashion doesn’t mean that you have to wear it.
But unfortunately the fashion freak doesn’t think that way and thinks that anything and everything that she sees on the cat walk or in the magazines is for her to wear. This type of person obviously doesn’t have their own criteria to judge what looks okay on her and what doesn’t and so in the end she ends up wearing things that all look a bit of a disaster on her which is such a pity as she seems to be the one that is the most enthusiastic over fashion.
To picture the image of a real fashion freak is to picture the woman who decides to wear a mini skirt because it is the ‘in’ item of clothing this year and doesn’t stop to think that she weighs 85 kilos.
